Within three months, I saw language acquisition results equivalent to those it had previously taken one year to achieve.

Research shows that listening informs reading, while speaking informs writing. If young children have difficulty with one, challenge with another can follow. Many schools today have implemented great reading and writing programs but have found that sometimes there is a piece of the literacy puzzle missing for children. That missing piece is LANGUAGE DEVELOPMENT. Through repeated exposure to songs, stories, chants, big books, poems, and action activities young students will acquire oral language. GrapeSEED teachers use the Gradual Release of Responsibility model to help their students acquire oral language naturally and joyfully.
This is my second year teaching GrapeSEED and I've found it to be so beneficial this year and last year. I've noticed... that they [the children] are using what they've been taught in GrapeSEED--using it throughout the day. For instance, using complete sentences when they speak. So, GrapeSEED has been very beneficial in my Young 5s classroom.

Using Grapeseed with our EL summer school students was a delight! They enjoyed the group lessons and were able to reinforce their learning individually through time on the Grapeseed app later in the day. As a teacher, I love using Nexus. Once I have learned the songs, and become familiar with the unit, my prep time is minimal; but the payoff is GREAT for these precious students!
